- POSITION SUMMARYWe are hiring individuals interested in becoming licensed Branch 2 (General Pest) and Branch 3 (Termite) Pest Control Technicians. No prior experience or license is required—we provide paid training and support to help you obtain your California pest control licenses. A background in construction is a plus and will be especially valuable for the termite portion of the role.
- Pest control technicians carry out different functions to ensure that buildings and the surrounding areas (environment) are free from pests, rodents, termites, etc. Commonly driving to several locations in a route per day, spraying, setting bait stations, applying chemical and other small tasks to provide this service. These functions are client specific and could be the same or different from 1client to another, depending on the client’s needs.
- LOCATIONCandidate must reside within 1 hour/45 miles from Middletown.
- Company provides services in Napa, Sonoma, and Lake counties of which a Technician will travel.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- GENERAL DUTIES
- Inspect buildings and the surrounding environment for signs of pest infestation or pests
- Determine the type of treatment needed to eliminate the pests
- Advising customers on the kind of treatment required to eliminate identified pests
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain findings and preventive measures
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with state regulations and safety standards
- Maintain accurate service records and follow company protocols
- Communicating with office staff in order to schedule services with customers
- Keep company vehicle, tools, and equipment clean and in working condition.
- REQUIREMENTS – SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND KNOWLEDGE
- To gain employment as a pest control technician, you will be expected to meet certain requirements that prove your suitability for the role.
- Must be able to pass a physical exam to be hired, or remain employed
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- No pest control license required to apply
- Pest control experience is a plus, but not required – will train the right person
- Must possess physical stamina and be able to withstand harsh conditions as the nature of the job requires standing for a long period of time and working in an uncomfortable environment
- Must be reliable, self-motivated and willing to learn
- Must be detail oriented and be able to follow detailed instructions in applying pesticide to avoid harm to the client and self and in compliance with regulations
- Must possess good customer service skills and be customer focused
- Strong ability to keep good records of hours worked, chemicals used, and payment collected
- Must possess a team spirit and be able to work well in a team environment
- Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and possess good interpersonal skills
- Must have good time and process management skills
- Must be trustworthy as duties are mostly discharged without the physical presence of the client
- Must have good organizational skills
- If not already a certified Technician, must be able to pass the certification within the set time-frame to retain employment
- ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position.
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. Reasonably expected to have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising your health and well-being or that of your fellow employees. Frequent operation of spray equipment and the ability to sit and drive for long periods of time, stand, walk, climb, crawl, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, and to occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional climbing into and working in small spaces, in and around dirt, webs, and other such circumstances. Occasional working in “attic” spaces where temperatures may be excessive for reasonable periods of time. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE such as respirators, gloves, smocks, eye wear, etc.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, working outside in varying locations. The noise level may occasionally require ear protection for short periods of time. The employee will occasionally work inside a dwelling/building where there is excessive exposure to fluctuating temperatures. There may be work required under houses where crawling in a damp, tight, dark place will be necessary. Work requires weekend and evening work on occasion. Occasional travel may be required.
