Job Detail
- High School or GED Diploma required or Certification in related field.
- 3-5 years of experience with CNC programming, and operating a CNC lathe with the ability to do set-ups.
- Experience programming in Feature CAM or Part Maker.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or SolidEdge.
- Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
- Experience setting up, troubleshooting CNC machines, and proving out programs. This includes knowledge of tooling, feeds and speeds, offsets, and the ability to make program changes.
- Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices.
- Strong mathematical skills and blueprint with GDT reading capabilities
- Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes
- DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develop CNC programs using Feature CAM or Part Maker based on engineering drawings and models.
- Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
- Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data to calculate correct part dimensions for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
- Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
- Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure – parts meet quantity and quality requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges to check work.
- Read instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure part dimensions within tenths.
- Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.
- Detect errors or irregularities, make corrections, and ensure an audit trail for all program changes. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
