Job Detail
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (mills and lathes) for production and prototype parts
- Design and fabricate custom jaws, fixtures, and workholding solutions
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications
- Machine tight-tolerance parts to ±001″
- Perform first-article inspections and make in-process adjustments as needed
- Train and mentor CNC Machinist Levels 1 and 2
- Collaborate with engineering on design-for-manufacturability feedback
- Recommend and implement improvements in tooling, methods, and processes
- Work independently to manage assigned jobs from programming through completion
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Create and modify digital job folders – operation, setup and inspection forms Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of CNC machining experience, including programming and complex setups
- Proficient in CAM software and/or conversational controls (e.g, Siemens Sinumerik, ProtoTRAK, or Mazak)
- Deep understanding of cutting tools, feeds/speeds, materials, and high-precision workholding
- Strong ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and GDT
- Proven track record of machining to ±001″ tolerances
- Effective leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
- Able to troubleshoot and resolve technical machining challenges independently
- Experience with Siemens Sinumerik One, ProtoTRAK, and Mazak controls
- Exposure to prototype and low-volume production environments
- Experience machining a wide range of materials, including aluminum, cast iron and various steels
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives DISCLAIMER
