Job Detail
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities
- Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation
- Ability to repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, and perform preventative maintenance of process equipment i.e. pumps, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, filters, etc. Capable of performing equipment lubrication.
- Competent in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, conveyor systems, plumbing, alignment, machine shop, and mobile equipment. Qualified to operate small and large cranes and knowledgeable of safe rigging practices.
- Follows and understands MSHA and/or OSHA rules and regulations, Environmental rules and regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, uses plant and equipment correctly at all times.
- Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business need. What You Bring To Freeport
- Minimum Requirements: Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.
- FPM Diagnostic Mechanic I: The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving 35% score on a writ10assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge. as well as safety. Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.
- HEM Diagnostic Mechanic I: Practical Skills Assessments defined in LOP.
- Shovel/Drill Diagnostic Mechanic I: Practical Skills Assessments defined in LOP.
- Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED
- Fabricating experience including MIG, TIG, and Stick Welding Preferred Qualifications

- The estimated pay range for this role is currently $28 – $38/hour . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process. .
