  • The Role At The Carpenter Hotel, the Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food to the hotel’s high standards, across its food beverage outlets. You’ll help maintain food quality, presentation, hygiene, and timely service, contributing to the hotel’s reputation for design-driven hospitality and culinary flair. You’ll also take part in maintaining appositive and collaborative atmosphere within the culinary team, supporting 1another to deliver the high standards The Carpenter Hotel is known for. Key Responsibilities: Set up your cooking station before service: ensure mise en place, ingredients prepped, tools and equipment ready.
  • Prepare and cook menu items (proteins, vegetables, sauces, garnishes) according to recipes, portion control, and plating guidelines.
  • Operate kitchen equipment (grills, ovens, fryers, steamers) safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of your assigned station, work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas. comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food products. monitor inventory and report stock levels or shortages to the Kitchen Manager.
  • Support food service for the restaurant, poolside service, coffee bar and café as required
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff, servers, and hotel food beverage teams to ensure smooth, timely, guest-facing service.
  • Participate in opening and closing procedures for your station, including proper storage, cleaning, and prep for next shift.
  • Follow cost-control and waste-reduction practices (portioning, minimizing spoilage) aligned with hotel food- -beverage goals.
  • Be flexible to assist with special events or high-volume situations at the hotel when needed.
  • Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and s are subject to review and revision. Qualifications Qualifications: High School diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Previous experience (ideally 6 months to 1+ years) working in a kitchen environment — restaurant, hotel, or high-volume food service.
  • Food handler certification or similar local food safety qualification.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, portion control, recipe adherence, plating and timing.
  • Ability to safely use and maintain kitchen equipment (grill, fryer, oven, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, multitask and maintain high standards during service.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
