Job Detail
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify electrical or mechanical faults.
- Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and control systems.
- Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure system efficiency and longevity.
- Use welding techniques for repairs or modifications of HVAC components when required.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs or system upgrades.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and local codes.
- Operate field service vehicles safely while adhering to company policies.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related fields such as appliance repair or property maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and HVAC design documents.
- Experience working with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, welding techniques, boiler operation, and equipment repair.
- Familiarity with construction sites or field service environments preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills.
