Industrial Painter

Loads and unloads parts from the Paint Line. Checks the quality of the painted parts from the line. Responsible for quality checks both cosmetic and first/last piece inspection. Reports questionable parts found to supervisor immediately. Paints and touches up the parts on the paint line through a prescribed manner.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Loads and un-loads parts on the paint line conveyor. Properly hang all parts ensuring parts are firmly connected to conveyor lines.
Frequently changes the paint hooks and hanging racks
Checks the quality of the paint job and that paint is adhering properly.
Assist with cleaning of spray booths after and prior to color changes and normal cleaning schedules.
Moves the material and parts to the next location on the paint line.
Conducts complete changeovers of the paint booths and guns, and cleans the system.
Conducts first piece inspections of the new parts prior to and after curing oven.
Ensures that all material handling equipment are staged.
Must be able to perform at least 4-5 different functions around the paint line.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area consistent with company’s housekeeping and safety policies.
Inform area management of any hazardous situations in the work environment.
Is willing to be cross-trained in at least one other assembly area.
Starts equipment necessary for painting. Examines the powder flow and powder hopper to ensure that it is working properly. Checks the color of the paint.
Is responsible for checking set ups for each run of parts. It is required to make changes if necessary to ensure proper outcome.
Examines paint guns to ensure that they are working properly and that there no clogs.
Assist with cleaning of spray booths after and prior to color changes and normal cleaning schedules.
