Position Summary
Penmarc Inspired Spaces, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Travel Trim Carpenter to install custom closets, cabinetry, and millwork for residential and commercial clients. As a premier service provider for custom-designed spaces, Penmarc delivers exceptional craftsmanship and customer service that transforms homes into organized, inspiring environments.
In this role, you will manage the hands-on installation of closet systems, cabinetry, trim, and millwork, including tasks such as sheetrock repair and light painting. You will ensure every project meets our standards of excellence while maintaining professionalism and client satisfaction. This position requires frequent travel and a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
To succeed, candidates must meet the following Core Requirements:
Travel Requirements: This role requires frequent travel, including overnight stays and both air and road transportation, with a minimum of 50% travel expected. Installers must be able to transport tools and materials to various job sites.
Transportation Capability: Ability to pick up and deliver 4X8 pallets of product using a van, truck, or trailer; prior experience or willingness to learn is essential.
Tools & Carpentry Skills: Should own basic tools commonly used for trim-level carpentry work. Essential specialty tools (such as HEPA vacuum) will be provided by the company. A skilled craftsman is expected to maintain personal tools for efficiency and quality workmanship.
Background Screening: Successfully pass background check.
RRP Certification: Preferred RRP Certified or willing to obtain by attending company-paid training within the first month of employment.
Essential Functions
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance customer experience.
Install custom closets, cabinetry, trim, millwork, and related finishes to meet project specifications, ensuring all installations are plumb, level, and securely fastened.
Perform tasks including trim work, sheetrock repair, light painting, and construction of millwork systems according to design specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and specifications accurately.
Measure and cut materials with precision and safety using hand and power tools.
Adhere to work schedules with punctuality and reliability, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Collaborate with Market Managers, Scheduling Coordinators, and other team members to meet project timelines.
Complete all job tasks, time clock entries, and review plans and scope of work within the proprietary project management system (Cruxos).
Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all safety protocols and procedures.
Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude in all clients and team interactions.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site in partnership with the Market Manager and clients.
Communicate promptly with scheduling and management regarding job progress or issues.
Respect the client’s home and maintain a professional work area, minimizing disturbance to other areas.
Represent Penmarc with professionalism and uphold company values in every interaction.
Be willing and able to travel as required for project needs, including overnight stays when necessary.
Requirements & Experience
High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience
Ability to obtain EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Lead Renovator Certification within 30 days of hire
Knowledge of general safety practices or OSHA training preferred
5+ years of experience in construction, carpentry, cabinetry, remodeling, and millwork
Experience in interior trim, remodels, renovations, shelving, or closet organizers
Ability to use hand tools, reciprocating and miter saws, and power tools correctly and safely
Ability to read layouts from blueprints and apply basic mathematics
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively with strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
Ability to use dispatching equipment and mobile applications
A phone or device with a sufficient data plan to access proprietary project management system (Cruxos)Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Reliable transportation and Proof of required vehicle insurance.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
The schedule for this position will vary based on business and client needs.
Work role involves manual labor and is performed independently and/or as part of a team in various residential settings including new builds, remodels, and renovations
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds.
Occasional sitting, twisting, crawling, crouching.
Occasional pushing and/or pulling up to 75 pounds.
Ability to maneuver in tight spaces and on uneven terrain.
Proficient hand-eye coordination to operate tools safely and precisely.
Frequent exposure to varying temperature conditions, noise levels, dust, and jobsite hazards such as power tools, scaffolding, and construction debris.
Requires adherence to safety standards and use of PPE.
