Commercial HVAC Service Technician
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance. This role involves providing on-site service, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. A valid driver’s license is required, and experience with construction, equipment repair, welding, boiler systems, and property maintenance is highly desirable. The technician will work in diverse environments, ensuring optimal operation of HVAC/R systems and related equipment.
Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues.
Conduct troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify electrical or mechanical faults.
Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and control systems.
Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure system efficiency and longevity.
Use welding techniques for repairs or modifications of HVAC components when required.
Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs or system upgrades.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and local codes.
Operate field service vehicles safely while adhering to company policies.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related fields such as appliance repair or property maintenance.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and HVAC design documents.
Experience working with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, welding techniques, boiler operation, and equipment repair.
Familiarity with construction sites or field service environments preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills.

Pay: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour
