Commercial HVAC Technician
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Technician to join our team, providing comprehensive heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration services for commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, field service experience, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including HVAC/R systems, plumbing, boiler maintenance, and equipment repair. Candidates with construction background and property maintenance experience are highly encouraged to apply. A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Responsibilities
Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration equipment
Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to ensure proper installation and maintenance
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, inspecting mechanical components, and calibrating equipment using tools like ohmmeters
Troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform repairs efficiently to minimize downtime
Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems as needed
Weld components and perform equipment repairs utilizing welding skills when necessary
Diagnose issues with mechanical systems using diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge
Maintain detailed service reports and documentation of work performed
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
Experience
Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related field such as refrigeration, appliance repair, or property maintenance
Strong background in construction, HVAC/R systems, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting
Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and equipment repair techniques
Experience working with air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and other HVAC equipment
Mechanical knowledge of various tools including ohmmeters and welding equipment
Field service experience with property maintenance or appliance repair is preferred
Valid driver’s license is required; experience driving commercial vehicles is a plus
Prior experience working with HVAC/R systems or boiler maintenance is highly desirable
