Diploma in releted field is required
Job Detail
- Operate skid steer or forklift to move, load and stage baled and loose waste paper and other recyclable materials.
- Feed shredders or balers with waste paper as required.
- Maintain organized materials and ensure proper separation of recyclable goods.
- Inspect equipment daily and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Assist with facility housekeeping, including clearing debris and maintaining clean work areas.
- Follow all facility safety procedures, including PPE requirements and equipment lockout/tagout.
- Communicate with other operators, employees and supervisors to ensure safe traffic flow and efficient operations.
- Support general labor tasks when equipment operation is not required.
- Desire to learn other jobs within the facility a plus.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating a skid steer, forklift or similar heavy equipment (preferred).
- Knowledge of recycling or waste-handling operations is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dusty, and noisy industrial environments.
- Strong awareness of safety practices and ability to follow instructions.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
