Master Electrician license through the Municipal Association of South Carolina.
Job Detail
- High School diploma or equivalent, required
- Minimum of 5years experience
- Must possess a current Journeyman or Master Electrician license through the Municipal Association of South Carolina. Individuals who do not currently hold a Master Electrician license must demonstrate a clear commitment to obtaining one.
- 30hr-OSHA training, required
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Physical ability to perform all job functions
- Must possess a valid SC Driver’s License
- Must be computer literate with the ability to utilize the existing automated facility maintenance management software
- Physical ability to work in all building areas, roofs, basements, crawlspaces and under all environmental conditions
- Essential Functions:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, lighting, motors, and controls in district facilities
- Diagnose and correct electrical malfunctions and perform preventive maintenance
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local regulations
- Inspect work performed by contractors to ensure compliance with district standards and codes
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Assist with planning and estimating electrical projects, including materials, tools, and labor requirements
- Coordinate with maintenance, custodial, and construction staff on building projects and system upgrades
- Respond to emergency electrical issues as needed to maintain safe and continuous operations
- Train or guide maintenance staff in safe electrical practices and minor electrical repairs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical theory, materials, and practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments efficiently
- Strong commitment to safety and preventive maintenance practices
- Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors, sometimes in confined spaces or at heights
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds and working in varying weather conditions
- Occasional after-hours or emergency response required
