Job Detail
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installation and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
- Work on construction sites performing wiring for new builds or renovations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Diagnose electrical issues using testing equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters. resolve problems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems for industrial automation projects.
- Perform high voltage work when required, following all safety procedures to prevent hazards.
- Collaborate with other trades such as frame carpentry or general contractors during renovation or construction projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed.
- Adhere to all safety standards and regulations while working on live or energized systems.
- Assist in schematics interpretation for complex electrical systems. support team members with maintenance person or general maintenance tasks as needed.
- Requirements
- Valid Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license or certification recognized by local authorities.
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards.
- Hands-on experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, power meters (including ohmmeters), and testing devices used in electrical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and NEC regulations.
- Experience working on construction sites including new installations, renovations, or maintenance projects.
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately and implement electrical plans accordingly.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members across various trades such as frame carpentry or maintenance person services.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy equipment, working at heights, and standing for extended periods.
- Additional nice-to-have skills include experience with schematics design software, renovation projects, construction management processes, or additional certifications in low voltage or high voltage systems.
