Position: Diesel Mechanic

Large truck dealership looking to hire a diesel mechanic.

$25 – $50 an hour

Diploma or equivalent (GED)~ Pass background and drug test~ Must be authorized to work in the United States~ Computer skills, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Internet Browser~ Valid CDL is a plus (Not Mandatory, must be willing to apply)~ NYS Heavy Duty Inspectors license is a plus (not mandatory, must be willing to apply)~ Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and additional shifts as assigned~ Must be available to willing to adapt~ Must have minimum tools to perform the maintenance and repair work~ Be motivated, proactive, focused and well organized~ Maintain high level of professionalism.

• Performs scheduled maintenance including changing oil, filters, checking lights, tires greasing, replace or repair light components and perform operations check
• Repairs and maintains a diversified fleet of trucks and equipment according to company preventive maintenance guidelines.
• Ensure all equipment are repaired up to Federal Commercial Motor Carrier DOT standards.
• Responsibilities:
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Training offered
• Will work under a Shop Lead or Foreman
• Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license and pass and Motor Vehicle Record check
• Be able to lift up to 70 lbs., frequently stand, stoop, kneel, crawl, walk, use of fine manipulation skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Pass background and drug test
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
