Job Detail
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, shocks struts, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify equipment as needed.
  • Service and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy equipment.
  • Execute wheel alignments, tire services including mounting and balancing, brake repairs, hydraulic system repairs, and suspension adjustments to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Read and interpret technical schematics and service manuals to accurately diagnose issues.
  • Perform vehicle assembly or disassembly tasks for major repairs or overhauls.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed. ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment to handle large components safely.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering maintenance recommendations.
  • Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Truck Technician or similar role within a dealership or fleet maintenance environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC units, and suspension systems.
  • Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, soldering equipment, welding gear, power tools and diagnostic scanners.
  • Ability to read schematics effectively to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is a plus.
  • Experience working with Caterpillar machinery or similar industrial equipment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to tire service, welding operations, heavy lifting procedures and hazardous materials handling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for working with team members and providing customer support.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy components safely.
