Position: Field Mechanic – Heavy Equipment

Job Brief
Position summarythe field mechanic is an experienced, highly skilled technician responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components on diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and various types of mobile and production equipment.

Salary Detail
$33.67 – $39.00 an hour

Job Detail
  • Troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment including diesel, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Assist with training other mechanics as needed.
  • Safely rig or hook components for lifting and moving.
  • Maintain tooling and shop cleanliness in accordance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Support repairs on commercial trucks and trailers as needed.
  • Assist with facility repairs and production equipment maintenance.
  • Order parts and accurately track work performed using manual or electronic work orders.
  • This description is not all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Qualifications
  • Education Technical Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Volvo, Cummins, and Sennebogen equipment.
  • Highly proficient in hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding.
  • Experience
  • Minimum 5(5) years of hands-on experience working with off-road heavy equipment and/or production equipment.
  • Must provide own professional-grade tools.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with multiple teams across different locations.
  • Licenses
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Will be required to drive a company-provided service/mechanics truck.

  • The physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Frequent: standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and hand/eye/foot coordination.

  • Additional Benefit
  • Tool Allowance: $500 per quarter
  • Pay: $33.67 – $39 per hour
  • Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
