Job Detail
- Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and mechanical knowledge.
- Repair or replace components such as shocks struts, tires, brakes, HVAC systems, and steering assemblies.
- Conduct fabrication tasks including welding, soldering, and assembly of parts or equipment as needed.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for testing or moving machinery.
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components with precision.
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain detailed service records and document repairs accurately.
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical systems and performing electrical repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice and ensuring timely completion of repairs.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or heavy equipment background preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools effectively.
- Skilled in welding, soldering, assembly, and fabrication techniques.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive repair equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience is highly desirable.
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts and perform manual labor in various environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred. This position is ideal for experienced mechanics passionate about maintaining high standards of vehicle performance while working on diverse machinery in a dynamic environment.
