  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License, held for at least 6months.
  • Verifiable military experience could be supplemented for the above time frame.
  • Six months of verifiable experience in operating equipment normally assigned to the Equipment Operator I classification within the City’s classification plan.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions (e.g, extreme heat or cold, rain, snow, etc.)
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPrimarily assigned to operate a Robotic Slope Mower, Tractor with Single Flail and Bobcat with attachments (backhoe, stump grinder, bush hog, sweeper, tiller, blower, etc.). Will also operate a variety of complex heavy equipment including but not limited to: Single and Double Axle Dump Truck, Farm Tractor with various attachments, Specialty Mower with Multiple Decks, Front End Loader/Hi Lift, Concrete Truck, Knuckleboom, Right-a-way Mower.
  • Routinely inspects equipment for safety and mechanical problems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
  • May operate equipment which is typically the responsibility of an Equipment Operator I
  • May operate various power tools such as weed-eaters, chain saws, etc.
  • May participate in set-up/preparation for special events.
  • As necessary, acts as lead worker or trainer for lower‑level employees.
  • Seasonally, plows snow and spreads salt on road surfaces.
  • Performs lower level maintenance and construction tasks as needed.
  • Performs related work as required.
