Job Detail
- Operate and maintain the slitters, fork trucks, and other industry-specific machinery (e.g pilot-scale coaters).
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal condition.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
- Safely operate machinery according to established safety guidelines and protocols.
- Monitor and maintain facility resources, including equipment, tools, and materials.
- Perform periodic checks to ensure compliance with storage and handling standards.
- Clean and sanitize equipment in accordance with ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 standards to ensure compliance with food safety and quality requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, operations, and logistics, to ensure seamless production workflows.
- Provide input on equipment upgrades or operational improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Assist with the setup and operation of new machinery or equipment as needed.
- Participate in safety training and enforce safety protocols during equipment operation.
- Drive a company vehicle as needed to support operational or logistical needs.
- Requirements:
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Technical proficiency in operating and troubleshooting manufacturing machinery.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and manufacturing safety standards.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across teams and interact with external vendors or contractors.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage competing priorities effectively. Training and Experience: Prior experience of 3+ years in operating manufacturing equipment, including pilot-scale coaters, slitters, or similar machinery, is preferred.
- Forklift certification is preferred but can be obtained through company-provided training.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders to manage inventory.
- Obtain certification to drive a forklift (training provided if required).
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and handle repetitive motions.
- Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
