Job Detail
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently with tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support automation and control functions.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), safety regulations, and industry standards related to high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems, including circuit testing and system diagnostics.
- Collaborate with construction teams on framing carpentry, schematics interpretation, and renovation projects to coordinate electrical work seamlessly.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections for project documentation.
- Assist in the reading of schematics and technical drawings for complex electrical layouts.
- Support the installation of electrical components on construction sites while adhering to project timelines.
- Participate in ongoing training on new electrical technologies such as industrial electrician practices or advanced PLC programming.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols, including proper handling of high voltage equipment.
- Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license or equivalent certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical expertise.
- Proven experience working as an industrial or commercial electrician on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Strong understanding of the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe electrical installations.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and troubleshooting equipment like ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, high voltage applications, and schematics design.
- Experience working with construction teams on framing carpentry or maintenance person tasks is a plus.
- Ability to read technical diagrams accurately and interpret complex schematics for installation purposes.
- Knowledge of renovation processes within commercial or industrial environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety compliance.
