Job Detail
  • Permit Application: Prepare and submit complete plumbing permit applications to the relevant city or county building department.
  • Code Compliance: Review project plans and specifications to ensure they meet all applicable state plumbing laws and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Documentation: Gather and verify all required documentation, including blueprints, site plans, and owner/contractor affidavits, before submission.
  • Liaison: Act as the main point of contact and liaison between the client/homeowner and government agencies/plan reviewers throughout the permit process.
  • Problem Resolution: Address any issues or corrections required by the plan review department to facilitate timely permit approval.
  • Fee Management: Calculate and collect required permit fees (to be covered by the client as an expense) and submit them with the application.
  • Inspection Coordination: Schedule all necessary inspections at various stages of the project (e.g, rough-in, final) and ensure the work passes inspection.
  • Liability: Assume full legal responsibility for the permitted work as the licensed permit holder of record.
  • Qualifications Requirements
  • Active License: Must possess a current, active [Texas, or relevant state] Master or Journeyman Plumber license.
  • Code Knowledge: In-depth, expert knowledge of local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Experience: Proven experience in navigating the local building permit process in the specified jurisdiction.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with city officials, contractors, and homeowners.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage documentation and tracking efficiently.
  • Independent Judgment: Ability to exercise independent judgment in ensuring compliance with codes and resolving routine issues.
  • Transportation: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to visit municipal offices and job sites if necessary.
