Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Job Detail
- Lead mechanical system design for modular builds: air-cooled chillers, rooftop units, DX/evap hybrids, dry coolers, and closed-loop liquid systems
- Perform cooling load and airflow calculations for actual rack densities and growth scenarios
- Develop mechanical design packages: BODs, P&IDs, equipment matrices, schematics, and installation details
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs are simple to build, maintain, and replicate
- Evaluate and select mechanical equipment vendors based on lead-time, cost, reliability, and serviceability
- Support site layout planning and airflow/containment strategies in the data hall
- Collaborate with procurement and project delivery teams to ensure smooth execution from bid to installation
- Lead or support commissioning, integrated systems testing, and operational turnover
- Contribute to standardizing mechanical templates for future deployments

What You Bring: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field - 3–10 years in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial HVAC, or packaged mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, chilled water and refrigerant systems, and airflow management
- Experience with Revit/AutoCAD and vendor documentation
- Familiarity with ASHRAE TC 9
- 9, mechanical codes, and reliability configurations (N, N 1, 2N)
- Comfort working across conceptual planning and field execution
- Ability to coordinate contractors and work on-site
