job description and duties. . are you looking for an exciting and fast-paced career? join the california governor’s office of emergency services (cal oes) and be part of an organization that serves as a leader in emergency management and homeland security through dedicated service to all. we are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team. if you are interested in a challenging opportunity in a high-energy, team-oriented environment, you are encouraged to apply.. . under the general supervision of the telecommunications systems operations supervisor (tsos i), the telecommunications systems technician ii (tst ii) is responsible for responding to and resolving public safety communications problems for state agency clients. the tst ii will also functionally report to the assigned shop lead as required. the duties are performed by following fcc rules and regulations, utilizing at a minimum, office-provided training, complex test equipment, computers, hand tools, the telecommunications division manual (tdm), and technical literature. incumbent will communicate effectively on all written and verbal interactions, frequently interfacing with customers and co-workers to resolve issues and collaborate. the tst ii will maintain a professional and team-centered environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. incumbent will work proficiently with microsoft office products, including word, outlook, and excel. travel to and working in remote locations, high elevations, and inclement weather conditions be required.. .

Public Safety Communications (PSC) serves the state of California by providing public safety communications to the state’s first responders and oversight of the 9-1-1 system to the people of California- The PSC is dedicated to the preservation and protection of human life and public safety by delivering reliable and dependable communication services keeping the public connected during times of crisis
In the event of an emergency, employees be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency- This contact be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays)
- This service require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and include duties other than those specified in your official position description
- Travel requirements in support of emergency operations be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you be required to relocate to emergency sites
