Job Detail
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps
- Repair and install electrical devices such as receptacles, light fixtures, light switches, lighting ballast, motors, etc
- Assists in keeping building common and electrical spaces in a neat, orderly and safe condition
- Accomplishes work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, and national and local codes
- Updates as-built drawings as necessary, according to department policies
- Attend Tool Box safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc
- Obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification
- Extended hours or weekend overtime be available
Education And Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required, depending on position
High School diploma or GED required- Previous electrical experience required
- ISA Instrumentation Certification required
- Valid Driver’s License
Language Skills
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customers, employees
