about afiadvanced facilities, inc. is a specialty contractor focused on mission-critical environments—server rooms, data centers, and technology spaces—alongside commercial/residential electrical service. we design, install, and maintain reliable power and cooling infrastructure that keeps customers up and running. if you take pride in craftsmanship, safety, and problem-solving, you’ll feel at home here.. the rolewe’re hiring a journeyman electrician to lead installs and service for commercial and light industrial projects, with frequent work in critical facilities. you’ll work independently and in small crews, interact with customers, and mentor apprentices. this is a field role based in greater cincinnati with occasional regional travel.. what you’ll do
- Install, terminate, and commission electrical systems: panels, switchgear, transformers, ATS/backup generators, UPS, branch circuits, lighting controls, and grounding/bonding
- Build clean, code-compliant conduit (EMT/RMC), cable tray, and wire management
- Read/mark up plans, one-lines, and schematics; collaborate with PMs to sequence work
- Perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and service calls in occupied facilities
- Follow lockout/tagout, arc-flash, and site safety protocols; complete daily JHAs/JSAs
- Coach apprentices; uphold AFI quality standards and customer communication

What You’ll Bring Current Journeyman Electrician license (Ohio preferred; KY or ability to obtain a plus) - 5 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience; ability to run small crews
- Strong NEC knowledge; confident with load calculations, terminations, and testing (megger, multimeter)
- Experience with critical environments a plus (UPS, ATS, generators, MC/Tap systems, grounding)
- Comfortable with tablets/apps for time, docs, RFIs, and photos
- Clean driving record; able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work safely on active sites
- OSHA-10 (minimum; OSHA-30 welcomed), current Arc-Flash/Energized Work awareness

Nice-to-Have Extras Low-voltage coordination (rack power, PDU strips, cable management) - VFDs, controls, and basic HVAC/electrical interface awareness
- NFPA 70E training and basic thermal imaging experience
