  • Working knowledge of mechatronics and mechanical systems, including: Steam generation and air compressor technology
  • Chain drives and various conveying systems
  • Variable frequency motor controls
  • Maintenance of sanitary conditions in industrial environmentsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous learning in a technical environment

  • Responsibilities

    Apply electrical engineering principles to maintain and improve the efficiency and reliability of the process equipment
  • Design, justify, plan, coordinate, and execute plant improvements/upgrades as directed
  • Design, develop, and test electrical distribution systems and load centers
  • Identify, analyze, and offer solutions to address electrical system needs of the plant
  • Prepare electrical drawings and specifications, and ensure that they are completed according to the company’s drawing standards and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company safety requirements and standards procedures
  • Identify production problems, recommend modifications, and implement solutions to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within the equipment limits
  • Independently research new technologies and recommend electrical technical innovations in machine/system architecture, control methodologies, and industrial/lab/field automation
  • Provide expertise for design of electrical power and automated controls in the company manufacturing operations
  • Provide expertise for designing, installing, and integrating electrical power and automated controls for facility renovations and expansions
  • Monitor and implement improvements that conform to the company’s electrical standards
  • Must understand the process flow of electrical/electronic functions
  • This includes but is not limited to the equipment on the Tannery Plant
  • Understands the workings of diagnostic equipment (oscilloscope, megger, volt meter and Amp probes)
  • Must have the ability to apply emphasis to major functions of equipment in area of responsibility this includes but is not limited to:
  • All functions of primary and secondary product scales
  • Fleshers, Splitters, Wringer, Press, Drums, and/or Conveyor Belts,
  • Product testing equipment
  • All plant Program Logic Controllers
  • All primary and Secondary functions of the electrical power in facility
  • All equipment associated to electrical/electronic area that are assigned by peers
  • Must be able to understand and draw electrical/electronic schematics and use these schematics and plant schematics as troubleshooting guides
  • Actively involve maintenance personnel in HAACP reviews and insure their expertise is used to improve food safety wherever applicable
  • Assist the Plant Engineer in assuring continuous plant improvement
  • Insure reliable and cost effective operation of systems that are often on line continuously
  • The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Base salary $33
  • 15 per hour on a bi-weekly pay period
