  • Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to join our growing team in the West Texas Area
  • In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and programming of automation systems and electrical equipment
  • You’ll work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure smooth, reliable operations of field automation systems

  • Key Responsibilities • Provide day-to-day support, preventive maintenance, and programming for automation equipment at field locations including well sites, SWDs, compressor stations, and tank batteries
  • • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot facility and wellsite communication equipment and instruments, including PLCs and VSDs
  • • Perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs of instrumentation, communication, and electrical equipment with minimal supervision
  • • Conduct planned maintenance checks and calibration; complete and submit all required reports in a timely manner
  • • Troubleshoot and program PLCs and related automation systems
  • • Lead automation failure analysis and provide recommendations for system improvements
  • • Maintain strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures
  • • Collaborate regularly with the operations team, SCADA/IT group, measurement, and engineering departments to ensure seamless system integration and performance

  • Qualifications • 5 years of experience in automation, instrumentation, or a related field
  • • 3 years of automation experience in the oil and gas industry preferred
  • • Associate degree or trade certification in Instrumentation, Electronics Technology, or related discipline
  • • Proficiency in troubleshooting automated systems and diagnosing technical issues
  • • Experience with communication equipment (cell modems, radios, network switches, etc
  • )
  • • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
  • • Familiarity with systems such as Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, ABB, SCADAPack, Redlion, and ROC, including HMI and drive systems
  • • Strong understanding of electrical systems, P&IDs, and C&E drawings
  • • Skilled in preventive maintenance and system optimization
  • • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in field environments
  • • Experience with robotics systems setup, servicing, and optimization is a plus
  • • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
